Jodhpur: The Beauty of Blue

Jodhpur, A city decorated with muscular Fort of Mehrangarh, is situated in Rajasthan. The MehranGarh Fort over the blue city offers a spectacle view with a splendid architectural wonder. in Past the blue coloured houses indicate the Brahmin's house Mainly, but now there is no such thing. Glowing with a mysterious light, the blue is considered to repel insects. Modern Jodhpur has stretched beyond the boundaries.
Jodhpur is well known for its culture which is still alive in its handicrafts and artifacts. Jodhpur's snacks and sweets are famous all over India. Jodhpuris are known for their sweet language and hospitality.

1. Mehrangarh

Mehrangarh, a muscular fort, is symbol of Jodhpur glorious past. Mehrangarh Fort is surrounded by Blue painted houses. The Blue painted city is also known as The Old city. very well maintained Fort with old time artifacts, presents the lifestyle of Royal families. When viewed from top, the Fort looks like a Peacock's wing.

2. Ummed Bhawan Palace

Ummed Bhawan Palace  is the residence of King of Jodhpur. Ummed Palace is ranked first Hotel in whole world.It is one of the world's largest private residences. A part of the palace is managed by Taj Hotels. Named after Maharaja Ummed Singh grandfather of the present owner Maharaja Gaj Singh of the palace, this edifice has 347 rooms and serves as the principal residence of the Jodhpur royal family. A part of the palace also houses a museum. If you are a lover of vintage cars, you will find a great collection here.
Ummed Bhawan Palace was called Chittar Palace during its construction due to use of stones drawn from the Chittar hill where it is located

3. Mandore Garden

Mandore Garden is a huge ruins of Fort, covered with Temples and Monuments. Prior to made of Fort, Royal family used to stay here, than moved to Fort. The outer wall of the garden depicts of Birds , animals and the beautiful art pieces.

4. Jaswant Thada

Jaswant Thada is cenotaph of maharaja Jaswant Singh made by Maharaj Sardar Singh, a mausoleum is built of marbles decorates the place. The cenotaph's grounds feature carved gazebos, a tiered garden, and a small lake.

5. Kaylana Lake

Kaylana Lake is an artificial lake, made by Maharaja Partap Singh. In winter season, this lake is home foe a number of migratory birds. you can enjoy boating and other water sports here. A Machiya Biological Park is also another option for animal loving people.

6. Ghanta Ghar and Old City

Ghanta Ghar, also known as Clock Tower, is the main Market of the Jodhpur. here you can enjoy shopping of Handicrafts and other items. Old City is famous because of its Blue painted Houses and temples.
